National Cancer Center of Korea Installs Hi·Art System®
The National Cancer Center of South Korea is a world-class cancer research institute, serving as a hub of cancer control, prevention, and education for the nation. This fall, the center officially launched their new Hi·Art System ® with an Opening Ceremony in October.
“NCC is a very exciting and important installation for us,” noted Ulf Ahlund, Asia/Pacific Sales Manager for TomoTherapy Inc. “They are a leading medical institution conducting groundbreaking cancer research, and we are proud to be a part of it.” The Hi·Art System® is installed in a new state-of-the art facility which will also house the center’s new proton therapy system, slated to open in January 2007.
The center has been using the Hi·Art System since September to treat a range of cases, including head and neck, prostate, breast, cervical, rectum, lung, and thyroid. Said S.Y. Park, NCC Chief Physicist, “The TomoTherapy Hi·Art System forms an integral part of NCC’s mission to improve national health and welfare by reducing the incidence and mortality of cancer through specialized research and patient care.”
