TomoTherapy Inc Wins Red Herring 100 Award
Award recognizes 100 private companies in North America that drive the technology industry’s future
TomoTherapy Incorporated today announced that it has been named one of the Red Herring 100 Private Companies of North America.
“Five years after the dot-com bubble burst, innovation and entrepreneurship are thriving. The companies on this list are proof,” said Red Herring editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss.
“We are honored to be recognized by Red Herring as one of the Top 100 innovative technology companies in the US,” said Fred Robertson, CEO of TomoTherapy. “This prestigious award acknowledges not only Tomo’s technical achievements, but the game-changing impact the Hi·Art System is having in the field of radiation therapy.”
The Red Herring announcement comes hot on the heels of the Frost & Sullivan Radiotherapy Solutions Excellence in Technology Award, which was presented to TomoTherapy in March 2005 in recognition of TomoTherapy’s technical innovation that is expected to bring significant contributions to the industry.
Red Herring’s lists of private companies are an important part of the magazine’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. The Red Herring 100 represents leaders in the software, communications, computing, entertainment and media, security, services, energy, and biosciences markets. Companies like Google and eBay were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors as those that would change the way we live and work.
Red Herring’s editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 900 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development. Red Herring 100 companies will be presenting their business model and strategy at the Red Herring Spring conference. Red Herring Spring will take place May 17-19 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel in Monterey, California.
