TomoTherapy Founders Win Ernst & Young Award
TomoTherapy co-founders Dr. Thomas “Rock” Mackie and Mr. Paul J. Reckwerdt have been named Emerging Entrepreneurs of the Year for the Wisconsin region in the prestigious 2002 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards program.
Chosen from a group of 19 regional finalists, Reckwerdt and Mackie were announced as winners at an awards banquet on Tuesday, June 18th, at the Midwest Express Center in Milwaukee, WI.
“This is a great honor and speaks to the depth of our company. The overriding incentive of TomoTherapy is the battle against cancer,” says Mackie.
Reckwerdt notes, “We have loyal, superb employees who are motivated by far more than a salary. While we are honored to accept this award, we know that people like this are the main ingredient in a successful startup company.”
Mackie and Reckwerdt will travel to Palm Springs, CA to attend the national awards program, which is scheduled for November.
