StatRT: A new standard of care for time-critical cases
TomoTherapy Incorporated is pleased to announce the launch of StatRT, a new software application for the Hi·Art® treatment system. StatRT will be introduced at the 49th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), held this weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
StatRT leverages the Hi·Art system’s fully-integrated design for the effective, palliative care of patients—and for a rapid start to fractionated image-guided, intensity-modulated (IG/IMRT) treatment plans.
With StatRT, TomoTherapy users can quickly and easily manage the full treatment process—imaging, planning and treatment delivery—from a single workstation.
The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre in Ontario, Canada served as a pilot site for StatRT software. According to the Centre’s Senior Medical Physicist, Miller MacPherson, PhD, “We have found that the dose distributions from StatRT are much more conformal than our traditional palliative techniques.”
“Beyond dose distributions,” Dr. MacPherson adds, “being able to image, plan and treat patients in a single appointment offers a much more convenient and comfortable experience for our patients than before.”
Miller MacPherson, PhD, will discuss StatRT in the TomoTherapy AAPM booth on Tuesday morning. See below for exact times and for additional Tomo user presentations.
