The Tomo Advantage: Beyond the System
Ocassionally we’ll use this space to highlight services from TomoTherapy Incorporated. Site Planning, Training and TomoExchange are featured here.
After placing an order for the TomoTherapy® Hi·Art System®, you’ll immediately discover benefits far beyond the well-documented clinical advantages. The first of these is in Site Planning services, provided at no additional charge.
Our Site Planning staff is experienced in all aspects of construction and preparation for installation. Plus, we assign a dedicated Project Manager to work on your behalf, giving you a single point-of-contact and a clear understanding of whom to call for what.
In addition to our knowledgeable staff, the Hi·Art system itself contributes to ease of installation, with minimized construction and shielding requirements that make it possible to more easily retrofit existing bunkers* and reduce the cost of new bunker construction. Plus, the System can be installed in smaller bunkers where a conventional linac simply will not fit.
Once the Hi·Art system has been installed, our Training group moves into action, with a comprehensive yet practical Applications Training course, as well as training for your Physicists on System QA.
The Applications Training course covers the Hi·Art Planning Station, Delivery QA, Operator Station and the delivery sub-system itself.**
In addition to Applications Training that is supplied with the System at the time of sale, we also offer CMD- and ASRT-accredited “refresher training” programs. Three- and five-day courses are available on the Planning Station and the Operator Station applications.
The Physics Training course is provided at our headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin—and a representative from our Clinical Science group will also be present during the ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) of your Hi·Art System.
Last but not least, TomoTherapy Inc. offers in-depth Technical Training for your own biomedical and technical support engineers. Our customers have told us that ours is one of the best programs they have taken part in, providing a valuable mix of theory of operation and practical experience.
We know that’s a lot to digest. For more information on any of the above, simply contact us.
* A recent study in the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics confirms the minimized shielding requirements for the Hi·Art system.
** Ideally, we schedule this training over three weeks, allowing time for hands-on practice with the System, which we have found to be highly advantageous.
